Walk the Blue Mountains

This tour is not currently available for booking.
Escape the urban buzz of Sydney and enter a world of misty forests, wild valleys and ethereal falls on a 4-day walking adventure through the Blue Mountains. Named for the eucalyptus haze that clings to its features, there’s no better way to explore this diverse ecosystem than on foot, and with an expert leader by your side, you’ll leave with all the local secrets and inside knowledge of the landscapes you walk through. Marvel at the Three Sisters rock formation, stand in awe of nature at the Sublime Point Lookout and learn about First Nations culture on a walk with a First Nations guide. When adventure calls, the Blue Mountains are the answer.

Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 8.30am on Day 1 in Sydney, and you are expected to arrive back into Sydney around 6.30pm on the last day. Please note that there is no accommodation included on the last day in Sydney.

A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.

Please note that ongoing track closures following sustained wet weather and subsequent geological instability as well as improvement works planned within the Park may put us in a position where we will be forced to change some of the walks with short notice. Blue Mountains National Park covers a huge area with many options for great walks to choose, therefore we are confident any last-minute changes, should they occur, will provide equally fantastic hiking experiences.

Day 1: Sydney / Blue Mountains / Katoomba
Welcome to the Blue Mountains! Your adventure begins in Sydney (Warrane in the language of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, who are the traditional owners of the land on which Sydney is now located). This is your gateway to a land of rugged peaks, soaring waterfalls and dense eucalyptus forest. Here, you’ll meet your fellow travellers and local leader for an 8.30am welcome meeting and to get your hiking packs ready to go, then it’s time to hit the road and drive to the town of Faulconbridge in the Blue Mountains. On arrival, enjoy a cultural walk with a First Nations guide to learn of the history, culture and ancient wisdom of this region. You’ll learn about the traditional owners of the land, hear stories of one of the world’s oldest living cultures and see how it’s still present and celebrated today. Along the walk, you’ll discover song lines, rock art, ceremonial sits and dreaming stories plus, you’ll have the chance to try bush foods and medicines and learn about ochre painting. After your walk, drive to the town of Katoomba and settle into your accommodation and then get ready for a special night walk. You read that right, tonight you’ll enjoy a night walk through Katoomba Falls Reserve. See Orphan Rock, Witches Leap, Katoomba Falls and Katoomba Cascades lit up at night – a truly spectacular sight.

Once you reach the Sublime Point Lookout, soak up the never-ending views across Jamison Valley and admire the incredible Australian bushland that blankets the whole area. After some time to take in the scenery, visit Everglades House and Gardens. Built in the 1930’s by a Danish-born landscape gardener, it’s easy to see the European charm that has been intertwined into this place. With European-style terraces, winding paths and rose-lined walks, the gardens have received acclaim from a global community of garden lovers. This afternoon, you’ll have time to explore Leura at your will.
